Effective decontamination
Conventional skin cleansers are unable to remove “PAHs” from the skin.
A Canadian study demonstrated as early as 2023 that soaps and even specialized decontamination wipes were barely capable of removing PAHs from firefighters’ skin.

My name is Mathieu Beaudoin.
Fires? I've fought over a hundred. Decontaminating firefighters and equipment to prevent cancer among firefighters is a relatively new procedure in America. My fire department was quite avant-garde in the field when this procedure was implemented, and it's a credit to my leadership, since it was to protect the health of my colleagues and me that these measures were put in place. However, after practicing decontamination after responding to fires, I found that there was one element missing from these measures: What was decontaminating my skin?
After fighting a fire our skin has a lingering smell of burnt wood that I continued to smell even after showering with conventional soap.
Curious by nature, I set out to find a solution to decontaminate my skin. I started reading scientific articles on the subject and also analyzing all the products available on the market.
